USDA Accepting Applications for India Trade Mission
USDA is accepting applications from exporters for its upcoming trade mission to India, the agency's Foreign Agricultural Service said this week. The April 22-25 trade mission will feature meetings with Indian importers, market briefings on the region, “relevant” site visits in New Delhi and opportunities to speak with USDA officials.

FAS Undersecretary Alexis Taylor said there is “no larger untapped market in the world for U.S. agriculture than India,” adding that the U.S. will see tariff reductions this year on exports of chickpeas, lentils, almonds, walnuts, apples and frozen turkey, which “will open market opportunities for U.S. farmers in the world’s most populous country.”
USDA also said opportunities in India exist for exports of other animal meat, cotton, dairy products, distilled spirits and wine, ethanol, forest products, fresh and dried fruits, seafood, tree nuts and more. The deadline to apply for the trade mission is Jan. 22.
