EU Adds 18 People, 19 Entities to Iran Sanctions List
The EU added 18 people and 19 entities to its Iran sanctions regime in response to the violent crackdown on protests following the death of Mahsa Amini, a woman arrested by the morality police who died in custody, the European Council announced. The listed individuals include government representatives, parliament members, media figures and high-ranking members of the Iranian security forces. The sanctions on Iran now cover 164 individuals and 31 entities and amount to an asset freeze and travel ban for those on the list, along with trade sanctions and export controls.

The listed individuals are: Hamid Sajjadi, Seyyed Mohammed Saleh Hashemi Golpayegani, Hassan Asgari, Hossein Modarres Khiabani, Esmaeil Zarei Kousha, Mohammad Esmail Kowsari, Mostafa Mirsalim, Mohammad Taghi Naghdali, Mousa Ghazanfarabadi, Ahmad Noroozi, Youssef Pouranvari, Ahmad Kadem, Mohammad Nazar Azimi, Abbas Nilfrushan, Moslem Moein, Mohammad Karami, Ali Akbar Javidan and Abbas Azarpendar.
The listed entities are Ravin Academy, Samane Gostar Sahab Pardaz Private Limited Company, Communications Regulatory Authority, Headquarters for Enjoining Right and Forbidding Evil, Imen Sanat Zaman Fara Co., Iranian Special Police Forces, Radis Vira Tejarat Co, nine Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps regional corps, and three IRGC operational bases.
