State Dept. Approves Military Sales to Netherlands, UAE, Kuwait, Australia
The State Department approved four separate potential military sales -- to the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Australia -- worth about $2 billion combined, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said July 21.

The agency approved a $1.219 billion sale to the Netherlands for “PATRIOT MIM-104E Guidance Enhanced Missile-Tactical (GEM-T) Ballistic Missiles” and related equipment. The prime contractor will be Raytheon, DSCA said.
DSCA also approved a $206 million sale to the UAE for an “Oceanographic Observation Equipment System” and related equipment. The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems.
Kuwait will receive $397 million worth of advanced weapons in support of a “Eurofighter Typhoon Aircraft Program” and related equipment. The principal contractors will be Raytheon Missiles and Defense and Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, DSCA said, adding that “multiple end items” will be sourced from U.S. government stock.
Australia will receive extended range “Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles” and related equipment valued at $235 million. The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin.
