the VSL to seek franchise fees from streaming services, appellee Hulu told the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in a docket 21-16560 answering brief Monday. Reno is challenging a lower court's rejection of its suit seeking franchise fees from Hulu and Netflix (see 2202080088). Even if Reno is allowed to bring its suit, Hulu said, VSL specifically excludes internet-delivered video content from its franchise requirements. Reno didn't comment Tuesday.
