CBP Seeks Applicants for COAC
CBP is seeking applicants for the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC), the agency said in a notice (here). Applications should be submitted to CBP by July 24. The COAC meets quarterly each year, though additional meetings may be scheduled, CBP said. The COAC provides advice on commercial operations of CBP "with respect to significant changes that are proposed with respect to regulations, policies, or practices of CBP," it said.

Generally, every other meeting of the Committee is held outside of Washington, though members are not reimbursed for travel and per diem. Current members can reapply if they aren't already in their second term, CBP said. Any interested person wishing to serve on the (COAC) must provide statements of interest and reasons for applying, among other things. A national security clearance is not required, the agency said.
