CBP Allows AESDirect Export Filing in ACE

CBP also highlighted a new user guide the AESDirect transition to ACE (here). CBP and the Census Bureau began allowing for registration of export accounts over the summer (see 1506180016). Once ACE AESDirect is fully operational, the Census Bureau plans to discontinue the legacy AESDirect filing application, CBP said previously.

Exporters can file information through Automated Export System (AES) Direct within the Automated Commercial Environment or via the legacy AESDirect system, CBP said in a Nov. 30 CSMS message (here).
"Take advantage of this time and begin transitioning your users to the new system," it said. "Please ensure proper transition management to avoid duplicate filing." CBP is in the process of piloting the use of AESDirect filing in ACE (see 1510200034). The deployment only affects portal and bulk upload filing, with guidance on AESDirect WebLink and EDI batch filing coming in the next two weeks, said CBP.
