of America, the American Academy of Pediatrics and Consumers Union, among others, requested the CPSC declare any children’s products, upholstered furniture, mattress or mattress pad or electronic device containing organohalogen flame retardants to be “banned hazardous substances” under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. Comments on the petition are due Oct. 19.
