CBP Posts Schedule for Planned PGA Pilots

CBP has plans to start at least six more Participating Government Agency pilot programs in 2015 to test interoperability with the Automated Commercial Environment, according to an agency schedule for the pilots (here). Previously announced pilots set to begin in 2015 are an Environmental Protection Agency test for Notices of Arrival for pesticides and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration declaration, it said.   • Food and Drug Administration -- system-to-system exchange of food and drug data (April 2015)
  • Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Veterinary Services -- Submission of data related to veterinary products (July 2015)
  • Plant Protection and Quarantine -- Submission of data for CBP Agriculture Specialists July (2015)

CBP plans to publish implementation guidance for each of the pilots in January, it said. Another pilot for the submission of APHIS Lacey Act declaration data is planned to come following discussions with industry, CBP said.
