APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Sept. 10
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Sept. 10 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Postentry Quarantine Manual: The following changes have been made to the Postentry Quarantine Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information:
Chapter 8 Alphabetical List of Diseases
- Page 8-2 - Japanese Pear Rust has been deleted
Chapter 10 Disease and Pathogenic Organism Circulars
- Page 10-71 - Japanese Pear Rust has been deleted
- Page 10-79 - Japanese Pear Rust has been deleted
Appendix A Directory of PPQ Postentry Quarantine Liaison Officers
- Table A-1 Directory of PEQ Liaison Officers (page 5 of 6) - PEQLO for the State of Oregon has been changed
Appendix H Plants Growing in Postentry Quarantine
- Table H-2 Inspection Aid for Plants Growing in Postentry Quarantine (page 12 of 18) - Mespilus germanica (medlar) has been deleted
Phalaenopsis Facilities List: The list of Approved Phalaenopsis in Growing Media Facilities (here) has been updated, 09/2014-25, to add five new greenhouse numbers and the names of three new growers, and to remove one grower and two greenhouse numbers and locations from the list. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:
- Page 5: Added greenhouse no. 70-PS-006-08
- Page 6: Added grower no. 70-PS-094 and greenhouse no. 70-PS-094-01; added greenhouse no. 70-PS-059-03; deleted greenhouse no. 50-PS-001-08 (merged into 50 PS-001-07)
- Page 7: Added grower no. 50-PS-053 and greenhouse no. 50-PS-053-01 and added grower no. 50-PS-054, greenhouse no. 50-PS-054-01; deleted grower no. 50-PS-049 Tsai Ming Chi, greenhouse no. 50-PS-049-01
