NVIDIA Requests Import Ban on Samsung Phones and Tablets, Qualcomm Chips
NVIDIA Corporation filed on Sept. 4 a Section 337 complaint with the International Trade Commission, alleging chipsets, mobile phones, and tablets imported by Qualcomm and Samsung infringe its patents related to graphics processing technology. NVIDIA identifies several models of phones and tablets imported by Samsung, including the Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy S4 and S5, Infuse and Illusion as including infringing chipsets made by both Qualcomm and Samsung itself. The company is asking for limited exclusion orders and cease and desist orders banning importation or sale of infringing products by Qualcomm and Samsung. The ITC is asking for comments by Sept. 19 on public interest factors raised by the Section 337 complaint (here).
