Trade-Related Court Cases Filed for Week of Aug. 18-24
The following lawsuits were filed at the Court of International Trade during the week of Aug. 18-24:

- Sakar International challenging CBP's denial of protests of the classification of its digital video recorders. CBP classified it in subheading 8525.80.50 (2.1%). Sakar says the digital video recorders shoud have been classified in subheading 8525.80.40 (free). Summons filed Aug. 18.
- Kaizen Products challenging CBP's denial of protests of the duty rate charged on its pencils. CBP classified the pencils under subheading 9609.10.00 and said the duty rate was 114.9%. Kaizen said the duty rate was incorrect based on the date of import, and should have been $0.003 each plus 4.9%. Summons filed Aug. 20.
- Boomerang Tube and other domestic producers challenging the Commerce Department's termination of the antidumping duty investigation on oil country tubular goods from Saudi Arabia with no duties imposed. Complaint filed Aug. 22.
The following appeals of Court of International Trade decisions were filed at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit during the week of Aug. 18-24:
- Siemens Energy challenging the International Trade Commission's affirmative injury determinations that led to antidumping and countervailing duties being imposed on wind towers from China and Vietnam. Filed Aug. 20.
- Ford Motor Company on the deadline for challenging reconciliation entries that had deemed liquidated without Ford's knowledge (see 14061901)..
