RevoLaze Asks for Import Ban on Laser Abraded Jeans

RevoLaze and its subsidiary TechnoLines filed a Section 337 complaint with the International Trade Commission alleging a litany of jeans companies are importing jeans that copy its patented laser abrasion technique. The technology is used to create a worn look on jeans, and replaces the “extremely dangerous and harmful” sandblasting process, which has been found to be associated with lung diseases. RevoLaze and Technolines say the following companies are importing or selling infringing merchandise: Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle Outfitters, BBC Apparel Group, Gotham Licensing Group, The Buckle, Buffalo International, 1724982 Alberta, Diesel, DL 1961 Premium Denim, Eddie Bauer, The Gap, Guess?, H&M Hennes & Mauritz, Roberto Cavalli, Koos Manufacturing, Levi Strauss, Lucky Brand Dungarees, Fashion Box, and VF. RevoLaze and TechnoLines are requesting a general exclusion order banning importation of all infringing jeans, or alternatively limited exclusion orders against each respondent, as well as cease and desist orders. The ITC is asking for comments by Sept. 1 on public interest factors raised by the complaint.
