APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 21

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Aug. 21 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: The FAVIR database (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) have been updated. The preclearance programs for apples and pears from France are now operational and import permits can be issued. In the manual, changes are indicated by black change bars in the left margin on page 3-113.
