Valeo Files Section 337 Patent Complaint on Federal-Mogul Wiper Blades

Auto part suppliers Valeo North America and Delmax de Juarez filed a complaint July 25 with the International Trade Commission requesting import bans on Federal-Mogul wiper blades that it says infringe its patents. Valeo and Delmax say the wiper blades copy Valeo’s simplified method of coupling the detachable wiper blade to the wiper arm. They say Federal-Mogul makes the wiper blades in Mexico and imports them into the U.S. Valeo and Delmax are asking for limited exclusion orders and cease and desist orders banning importation and sale of the allegedly infringing wiper blades by several Federal-Mogul affiliates. The ITC is seeking comments on public interest factors raised by the complaint by Aug. 11 (here).
