APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for June 19
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes June 19 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:
Chapter 3-17 Ruminant Products
- Table 3-17-5 Shelf-Stable BONELESS Beef in Hermetically Sealed Containers - language in all cells in second column (And:) has been revised
Appendix A Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail
- Table A-1-9 Moon Cakes in Passenger Baggage or Personal Mail (page 2 of 2) - EU Poultry Trade Region instructions have been corrected
Miscellaneous and Processed Products: The following changes have been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information:
Chapter 3 Reference
- NEW Table 3-1 Imports suspected to be controlled substances
- Table 3-138 (former Table 3-137) Seeds (OTHER THAN nuts) that are processed (seeds with hulls removed) or manufactured into articles (page 2 of 2) - NEW language for footnote #2
- Table 3-146 (former Table 3-145) Dried tea, herbal tea, herbal infusions, and other concoctions to be boiled - language in fourth cell, fifth column (Then:) has been revised
