APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for June 16
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes June 16 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. Specific changes are as follows:
Chapter 3-2 Bovine Products
- Table 3-3-2 Bovine Products Locator (page 3 of 3) - footnote reference number 7 has been added to second cell, first column (If:); subsequent footnote numbering has been updated; NEW footnote #7 has been added
Glossary
- Page Glossary-1-40 - "region of controlled risk for BSE" and "region of negligible risk for BSE" terms have been added
- Page Glossary-1-41 - "region of undetermined risk for BSE" term has been added
Miscellaneous and Processed Products: The following changes have been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information. The individual changes are as follows:
Chapter 3 Reference
- Table 3-137 Seeds (OTHER THAN nuts) that are processed (seeds with hulls removed) or manufactured into articles (page 2 of 2) - NEW footnote #7 has been added and subsequent footnote numbering has been adjusted
Glossary
- Page Glossary-17 - hyperlink to Table 3-61 has been added to "sugarcane chew" entry
