APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 30
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes May 30 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. Specific changes are listed below.
Chapter 3-1 Reference
- Table 3-1-2 Manual Reference Locator (page 4 of 4) - footnote #4 has been revised
Chapter 3-2 Avian Products
- Table 3-2-9 Fresh, Unfertilized Eggs (page 2 of 2) - corrected figure reference in first cell in the third column (And the importation:)
Chapter 3-14 Milk Products
- Table 3-14-10 Canned, Shelf-Stable Products Containing Milk Products AND Meat (page 2 of 2) - third and fifth cells in the third column (And:) footnote reference numbers have been revised
Appendix A Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail
- Table A-1-11 Hunted, Wild Game Meat - (page 1 of 2) fifth and eleventh cells in the fifth column (And:) footnote reference numbers have been revised; (page 2 of 2) eighth cell in the fifth column (And:) footnote reference number has been revised
Appendix G Certificates and Forms
- Figure G-1-18 Example of CFIA Annex C, Certificate for Animal Casings to the United States - figure has been replaced
Miscellaneous and Processed Products: The following changes have been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information. The individual changes are listed below.
Chapter 3 Reference
- Table 3-105 Branches--plant parts (including decorative branches) but EXCLUDING seeds - Federal Authority information has been updated; Switzerland has been added to the list of countries in the second cell of the second column (And from); Croatia has been added to the list of countries in the European Union in footnote #1
