APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for April 8

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes April 8 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual: The following changes have been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) reflect up-to-date information. The individual changes are listed below.

  • Table 3-129 DRIED fruit and vegetables - (page 1 of 5) NEW "beans" cell in first column (If:); (page 3 of 5) NEW "dates" and "figs" cells in first column (If:); (page 4 of 5) NEW "nuts" cell in first column (If:); (page 5 of 5) NEW "raisins" cell in first column (If:)

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: The Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) and the FAVIR database (here) have been updated to add Huiramba, Purepero, and Quiroga to the list of municipalities in the Mexican State of Michoacan approved to export Hass avocados to the United States. The change in the Fruits and Vegetables Manual, indicated by a black change bar in the left page margin, is on page 3-210.
