APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for April 2
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails April 2, 2012, announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Products Import. The online version of the Animal Products Import Manual was revised to update changes in global phone numbers throughout the manual. References to (301) 734-3277 have been changed to (301) 851-3300 on the following pages: 2-1-4; 2-3-5; 2-4-22; 2-4-29; 3-8-9 through 3-8-13; 3-8-16; 3-14-9; A-1-2; and H-1-6. Chapter 3-2: Feces, Guano, Manure, or Urine --Table 3-2-4 Bat Guano language in footnote #1 was changed. In Appendix A: Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail, page A-1-17 Matrix Definitions of Abbreviations, Regions, and Headings changed under HPAI heading; language regarding Macau was added to China entry; Taiwan has been added. In Appendix C: List of Foreign Countries and Their Disease Status, Figure C-1-1 List of Foreign Countries and Disease Status footnote #8 has been corrected . In Appendix H: List of Veterinarians Table H-1-2 List of PPQ-AQI-VMO territories and contact information has been updated. (here)
Canadian Agricultural Clearance. The online version of the Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual was revised to update headquarters phone number for reporting problems with the manual. Driftwood was added to the list of Canadian timber products in Table 3-31. Revisions are on the following pages: Chapter 1: Introduction: Page 1-10. Chapter 3: Plant 3-25. (here)
