(In 2005, the U.S. and other countries committed to enforce International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM 15), which calls for certain WPM to be either heat treated or fumigated with methyl bromide and marked in a certain way certifying treatment. The U.S. and Canada have provided each other mutual ISPM 15 exceptions for their WPM; however, the countries have recently been working to terminate these exceptions and begin implementation of the ISPM 15 for each others' WPM.
