- Textile trade enforcement. A bill to provide the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Department of the Treasury with authority to more aggressively enforce trade laws relating to textile and apparel articles, and for other purposes (S. 1683)
- TWIC. A bill to direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to reform the process for the enrollment, activation, issuance, and renewal of a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) to require, in total, not more than one in-person visit to a designated enrollment center (H.R. 3173)
On October 13, 2011 the following bills were introduced:
- Trade agreement reciprocity. A bill to enhance reciprocal market access for United States domestic producers in the negotiating process of bilateral, regional, and multilateral trade agreements (S. 1711)
- Rulemaking moratorium. A bill to establish a moratorium on regulatory rulemaking actions and to repeal all rules that became effective after October 1, 1991, and are in effect as of the date of the enactment of this Act, and for other purposes (H.R. 3181)
- Tobacco smuggling. A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to reduce tobacco smuggling, and for other purposes (H.R. 3186)
On October 14, 2011 the following bills were introduced:
- Maritime capacity. To amend title 46, United States Code, to require the Maritime Administrator, in making determinations regarding the non-availability of qualified United States flag capacity to meet national defense requirements, to identify any actions that could be taken to enable such capacity to meet some or all of those requirements, and for other purposes (H.R. 3202)
- FDA device classification. To amend section 513 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to expedite the process for requesting de novo classification of a device (H.R. 3203)
- FDA guidance documents. To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to ensure public participation in the drafting and issuance of Level 1 guidance documents, and for other purposes (H.R. 3204)
- FDA device reviews, inspections. To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act with respect to persons who, with respect to devices, are accredited to perform certain reviews or inspections (H.R. 3205)
- FDA advisory committees. To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act with respect to appointments to advisory committees and conflicts of interest (H.R. 3206)
- Lacey Act Amendments. To amend the Lacey Act Amendments of 1981 to limit the application of that Act with respect to plants and plant products that were imported before the effective date of amendments to that Act enacted in 2008, and for other purposes (H.R. 3210)
- FDA device reg harmonization. To direct the Food and Drug Administration, with respect to devices, to enter into agreements with certain countries regarding methods and approaches to harmonizing certain regulatory requirements (H.R. 3230)
