A 2007 posting states that CBP-generated bills are issued on CBP Form 6084, and usually list where the payment must be made (e.g., to CBP's lockbox facility, or for fines and penalties, the address of the respective FP&F office located in the port that issued the bill). A copy of each bill (CBP Form 6084) should be included with the payment. Also, if a single bill or a few bills are being paid, the bill number(s) should be annotated on the check, to the extent possible, as an extra precaution. The posting adds that interest for late payment is assessed on such bills based on the date CBP receives payment, noting that such interest may result in an additional bill.
