CBP Seeks Comments on Entry & Manifest of Duty-Free Goods (Form 7523)
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking comments by December 5, 2011 on its extension of an existing information collection concerning the Entry and Manifest of Merchandise Free of Duty, Carrier’s Certificate and Release (CBP Form 7523). CBP proposes to extend the expiration date of this information collection with no change to the burden hours or to the information being collected.

CBP Form 7523 is used by carriers and importers as a manifest for the entry of merchandise free of duty under certain conditions. It is also used by carriers to show that articles being imported are to be released to the importer or consignee, and as an inward foreign manifest for vehicles of less than 5 tons arriving from Canada or Mexico with merchandise conditionally free of duty.
