CBP Announces Update of CAMIR Implementation Guide
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued CSMS #11-000218 on updates to the CAMIR Implementation Guide that affect ocean manifests. According to CBP, the Customs Automated Manifest Interface Requirement (CAMIR) Implementation Guide has been updated as of August 2011 for the following chapters and appendices: 1) Input to Customs, 2) Inbond and Vessel Departure/Arrival Message, and 3) Permit to Transfer and 4) Appendix H. CBP notes that the ANSI X12 Implementation Guide was not modified. CAMIR Implementation Guide available here.
