Orders Revoked due to ITC Negative Injury Determination Under Sunset Review
The ITA is revoking the AD duty orders on purified CMC1 from Mexico and Sweden pursuant to the determinations by the ITC that revocation of the orders would not be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to an industry in the U.S. within a reasonably foreseeable time.
(See ITT’s Online Archives or 04/16/11 news, 11041601, for BP summary of the ITC’s negative injury determinations.)
Suspension of Liquidation/Cash Deposits Terminated Effective July 11, 2010
The effective date of the revocations is July 11, 2010. The ITA will notify U.S. Customs and Border Protection to terminate the suspension of liquidation and collection of cash deposits on merchandise subject to these orders with a time of entry on or after July 11, 2010.
ITA to Complete Pending Admin Reviews
Entries of subject merchandise prior to the effective date of revocation will continue to be subject to suspension of liquidation and AD duty cash deposit requirements. The ITA will complete any pending administrative reviews of these orders.
1The merchandise subject to these orders is all purified CMC, sometimes also referred to as purified sodium CMC, polyanionic cellulose, or cellulose gum, which is a white to off-white, non-toxic, odorless, biodegradable powder, comprising sodium CMC that has been refined and purified to a minimum assay of 90 percent. (See ITA notice for complete scope of the order.)
(See ITT’s Online Archives or 06/03/10 news, 10060326, for BP summary of the initiation of these sunset reviews.)
