House Transportation Committee Approves FAA Extension Bill

On March 16, 2011, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee approved a short-term extension of Federal Aviation Administration programs, as well as its priorities for federal spending reductions and views and estimates on the budget for the next fiscal year.

According to the Committee, H.R. 1079, the “Airport and Airway Extension Act of 2011,” is a bipartisan bill to extend FAA funding and programs at current funding levels through May 31, 2011. This legislation would extend FAA programs another 60 days beyond the current authorization and will provide additional time for Congress to take action on a multi-year FAA reauthorization bill.
