Senate Finance Leaders Ask USTR to Provide FTA Timetable at March 9 Hearing
On February 14, 2011, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Baucus (D) and Ranking Member Hatch (R) sent a letter to the U.S. Trade Representative urging him to act quickly so that Congress can approve the Colombia and Panama Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

In their letter, the Chairman and Ranking Member welcome the USTR’s agreement to testify before the Senate Finance Committee on March 9, 2011. At that time, the Committee expects the USTR to come prepared to (1) identify specifically any additional steps that the Administration believes Panama or Colombia should take; and (2) provide a clear and expeditious timetable for moving both agreements through the U.S. Congress.
