House Committee Lists Regs Businesses ID'd as Impeding Job Creation

Representative Issa (R), Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has posted almost 2,000 pages of responses1 he received from his request for business input on regulatory barriers that impede private-sector job creation.

(At the end of 2010, Chairman Issa sent a letter to more than 160 trade associations, private companies, and think tanks asking for their input on what they perceive to be regulatory barriers that impede their ability to create jobs.)

Other Committee Efforts Include New Web Site and Feb 10 Hearing

According to a Committee press release, Chairman Issa has also launched a web site for providing input on regulatory barriers to job creation at www.AmericanJobCreators.com.

In addition, the Committee will be holding a hearing on February 10, 2011 entitled “Regulatory Impediments to Job Creation.”

Chairman Says Committee Efforts Should Complement Administration Action

According to Issa, his committee’s efforts should complement the President’s recent directive to heads of agencies regarding the examination of regulatory barriers to job creation. (See ITT’s Online Archives or 01/19/11 news, 11011915, for BPs summary of President’s action.)
