Ways & Means Republicans Say Tax Agreement Should Remove Hurdles to Panama FTA
On November 30, 2010, Representative Camp (R), Ranking Member on the House Ways and Means Committee and Representative Brady (R), Ranking Member on the Trade Subcommittee, issued a statement in reaction to the signing of the Tax Information Exchange Agreement between the U.S. and Panama.

According to Camp, the fact that there is now signed a Tax Information Exchange Agreement with Panama should remove any remaining hurdles to moving forward with the U.S.-Panama Trade Promotion Agreement, something he says should be done as soon as possible. Brady noted that the tax issue had become a roadblock to consideration of the U.S.-Panama Trade Promotion Agreement.
