Republicans to Control House in 112th Congress, Democrats Retain Senate
As a result of the November 2, 2010 election, Republicans will be the majority party in the House of Representatives when the 112th Congress convenes in January 2011. As the majority party in the House will change, new Republican Committee Chairmen will be chosen for the 112th Congress.

(Note that three current (111th Congress) House committee chairmen were defeated, Oberstar (D) - Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Spratt1 (D) -- Budget Committee, and Skelton (D) - Armed Services Committee. As a result, they will not be in the House of Representatives during the 112th Congress.)
Democrats Retain Control of Senate and Committee Chairmanships
As the Democrats retain control of the Senate in the 112th Congress, they will also retain control of Senate Committee chairmanships.
(Note that a new Democratic Senator will be selected to chair the Senate Agriculture Committee for the 112th Congress, as current (111th Congress) Senate Committee Chair Lincoln (D) was defeated.)
