Senators Ask Administration for Action Against Chinese AD/CV Duties on U.S. Poultry

On October 12, 2010, Senators Grassley (R) and Hatch (R), the two most senior Republicans on the Senate Finance Committee, asked the Secretary of Agriculture and U.S. Trade Representative to take action to stop China’s discriminatory duties on U.S. poultry products.

The Senators asked the USTR and Agriculture Secretary to request high-level consultations with the Chinese government and to seek the withdrawal of China’s antidumping and countervailing duties on poultry. According to the Senators, poultry is the latest example of China’s discriminatory treatment of U.S. products in violation of China’s international trade obligations.
