The Consumer Product Safety Commission has changed the time of its March 31, 2010 open meeting in which it will vote on the proposed rule on the definition of children's products under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008. 3. ITA Announces Sept 2010 Brazil Trade Mission

The International Trade Administration's U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service is organizing a Trade Mission to Brazil on September 26-30, 2010, which will include representatives from a variety of U.S. safety and security equipment firms interested in gaining a foothold in the fast-growing Brazilian markets. 4. ITA Extends Application Deadline for Middle East Health Trade Mission

5. TTB Enforcement Policy for Domestic and Imported Wines Containing Pesticides

The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau has issued a circular outlining its policy regarding its enforcement policy for domestic and imported wines found to contain unauthorized pesticides or quantities of pesticides in excess of authorized levels under the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (21 U.S.C. 346a) and its regulations for grapes and wines. 6. CITT to Hold Hearing on Classification of K-Caps

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal will hold a public hearing on April 20, 2010 to consider whether K-Caps are classified under tariff item No. 3923.90.90 as argued by the Canada Border Services Agency or under 9602.00 as claimed by CapsCanada Corporation. 7. OFAC Publishes Names of 54 Blocked Persons under Kingpin Act

The Office of Foreign Assets Control is publishing the names of 54 individuals whose property and interests in property have been blocked pursuant to the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act, effective March 24, 2010. 8. HK Man Indicted, Extradited for Unlicensed Export of Flight Simulators

The Bureau of Industry and Security reports that a Hong Kong citizen, Hok Shek Chan aka John Chan, has been indicted and extradited for charges involving the export of 10 indicators servo driven tachometers used in C-130 military flight simulators from the U.S. without a required State Department license or written authorization. 9. Jiangsu Province Announces Express Industry Development Plan

Eastern China's Jiangsu province has announced a development plan to foster the growth of three leading express service providers for the period from 2010 to 2012, setting a target of 300 million packages and CNY10 billion (US$1.5 billion) for the revenue of the industry by 2012, Xinhua reported. 10. Panel Delays Report in U.S.-China WTO Dispute on AD/CV Duties

The Chairman of the panel examining "U.S.-Definitive Antidumping and Countervailing Duties on Certain Products from China" (DS379) has informed World Trade Organization members that due to the substantive complexity of the dispute, it only expects to complete its work by June 2010. 11. EU Agriculture Ministers Agree to Ways to Improve Food Supply Chain

European Union Agriculture Ministers approved a "decisions document" on four priorities for improving the operation of the food supply chain in the European Union: promoting sustainable market relations; increasing transparency in the food supply chain; improving integration and competitiveness; and ending practices that lead to a fragmented domestic market. 12. Canada Issues D-Memo on "Haiti Deemed Direct Shipment Regulations"

The Canada Border Services Agency has issued an Interim Memorandum D17-1-13 which details the accounting format requirements in order to account for goods qualifying under the provisions of the "Haiti Deemed Direct Shipment Regulations" or to make application for an adjustment request for goods that qualify under the regulation back to its effective date. 13. Canada Introduces Legislation to Implement Canada-Jordan FTA

Canada's Minister of International Trade has introduced legislation to implement the Canada-Jordan Free Trade Agreement and related agreements on labor cooperation and the environment. Once implemented, the FTA will eliminate tariffs on over 99% of recent exports. Key sectors such as forestry, manufacturing, agriculture and agri-food will benefit from immediate duty-free access. 14. Japan Responds to Questions on Its Subsidy for Traditional Crafts

Japan has circulated to World Trade Organization members, its responses to questions by the European Union on Japan's subsidy for traditional craft products which it gives to manufacturing co-operatives and their members that produce traditional Japanese crafts and to enterprises, groups, individuals, etc. that are engaged in the promotion of the traditional Japanese craft industry.
