(The Department of Homeland Security has also issued its semi-annual regulatory agenda for CBP. See ITT's Online Archives or 12/09/09 news, 09120940, for BP summary of DHS' agenda.)

This agenda is a comprehensive list of Treasury's CBP rulemakings (i.e. those regulations that pertain to 19 CFR) that are pending at the proposed, interim final, final, and completed stages, as well as rulemakings that are long-term actions. The agenda lists the regulation title; past regulation(s), if any; the timeframe for the next regulatory action(s), if any; a brief description of the regulation; and a contact party name and telephone number.

Fall 2009 Agenda Lists Four New Rulemakings, Etc.

DHS' fall 2009 agenda for CBP has some substantive differences from the spring 2009 agenda. It includes four new rulemakings: "Drawback of Internal Revenue Excise Tax," "Imported Directly Requirement Under the U.S.-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement," "Entry of Certain Cement Products from Mexico Requiring a Commerce Department Import License," and "Increase in Certain Personal Duty Exemptions Extended to Returning U.S. Residents." Another difference is the move of the rulemaking "Recordation of Copyrights and Enforcement Procedures to Prevent Importation of Piratical Articles" from the final rule stage to the long term actions stage.

Agenda Highlights

Highlights of Treasury's CBP rulemakings that are at the proposed, interim final/final, or completed stages, or that are long term actions, are as follows:

- Increase in Certain Personal Duty Exemptions Extended to Returning U.S. Residents
