Chinese-Made Drywall Concerns Spark Senate Letter to SBA

On July 28, 2009, Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Chair Landrieu (D), as well as Senators Bill Nelson (D), Mark Warner (D), and Jim Webb (D) sent a letter to the Small Business Administrator requesting that the Small Business Administration (SBA) review its existing authority under the Stafford Act to assist homeowners and businesses in the wake of growing complaints over homes tainted with Chinese-made drywall.

Clarification of U.S. Stance on Ethanol Tariff Sought by Senator

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Grassley (R) is seeking clarification of the White House's position on keeping the U.S. tariff on imported ethanol after a statement in favor of lifting the tariff from the President's nominee for ambassador to Brazil.
