ITC Terminates Investigation of Three CNL Waiver Petitions for 2008 GSP Annual Review
The International Trade Commission is announcing that it has terminated its investigation of three competitive need limitation (CNL) waiver petitions that were undergoing review as part of the 2008 Generalized System of Preferences Annual Review.

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative issued letters directing the ITC to terminate these investigations as the petitions requesting waivers of the CNL for the subject articles below have been withdrawn.
Certain Argentina/Brazil Metals, India Aminos No Longer Being Investigated
Pursuant to the withdrawal of three CNL waiver petitions, the ITC has terminated its investigation with respect to the following country/tariff number pairs:

1nesoi stands for "not otherwise specified or included."
(These country/tariff number pairs are currently GSP-eligible. None of the three were on the USTR's list of pairs that may lose GSP eligibility on July 1, 2009.)
ITC to Issue Report on Three Remaining Pairs in May 2009
The ITC is expected to transmit its report to the USTR in May 2009 providing its advice with respect to the remaining three CNL waiver petitions that are the subject of the USTR's request: (1) Polyethylene terephthalate in primary forms (PET resin) (HTS 3907.60.00) from Indonesia; (2) Full grain unsplit bovine (not buffalo) & equine leather, not whole, without hair on, nesoi (HTS 4107.91.80) from Argentina; and (3) Copper, stranded wire, not electrically insulated, not fitted with fittings and not made up into articles (HTS 7413.00.10) from Turkey.
