1. FMC Adds FY 2009 Budget Report to Its Nov. 20th Meeting Agenda

2. Representatives Say They Will Move Legislation to Implement FDA Reforms in Next Congress

The House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chairman pledged continued FDA oversight and said that, in the next Congress, they will swiftly move legislation to implement badly-needed reforms at FDA. 3. Armenia Becomes 174th CITES Party

The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) has issued a news release announcing that Armenia has become the 174th Party to CITES. 4. New EU Trade Data Service

STAT-USA has developed a new Web site for European trade statistics. EuroTrade Online provides official trade data for the 27 European Common Market countries. The detailed monthly and annual merchandise trade statistics are broken down by 8-digit subheadings of the Combined Nomenclature (CN), the EU's classification system based on the Harmonized System. 5. FDA Removes Essential-Use Designation for Epinephrine Used in Inhalers Effective 2011

The Food and Drug Administration has issued a final rule, effective December 31, 2011, amending its regulation on the use of ozone-depleting substances (ODSs) in self-pressurized containers to remove the essential-use designation for epinephrine used in oral pressurized metered-dose inhalers (MDIs). 6. FMCSA Seeks Nominations for Motor Carrier Committee, Etc.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has issued a notice announcing the renewal of the charter for its Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee (MCSAC) and the reappointment of 13 of the 15 original members of the Committee, and soliciting nominations for interested persons in the safety enforcement community to serve on the Committee. 7. State Department Terminates Statutory Debarment of Interaero

The State Department has issued a notice announcing that it has terminated the statutory debarment of Interaero, Inc., pursuant to section 38(g)(4) of the Arms Export Control Act, effective November 19, 2008. 8. State Department Terminates Statutory Debarment of Quality Aviation

The State Department has issued a notice announcing that it has terminated the statutory debarment of Quality Aviation, Inc., pursuant to section 38(g)(4) of the Arms Export Control Act, effective November 19, 2008. 9. State Department Imposes Measures Against 13 Foreign Persons

The State Department has determined that 13 foreign persons have engaged in activities that warrant the imposition of measures pursuant to Section 3 of the Iran, North Korea, and Syria Nonproliferation Act, which provides for penalties on entities and individuals for the transfer to or acquisition from Iran since January 1, 1999, the transfer to or the acquisition from Syria since January 1, 2005, or the transfer to or acquisition from North Korea since January 1, 2006, of equipment and technology controlled under multilateral control lists (Missile Technology Control Regime, Wassenaar Arrangement, etc.) or otherwise having the potential to make a material contribution to the development of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) or cruise or ballistic missile systems. The Bureau of Industry and Security has issued a notice announcing that the Transportation and Related Equipment Technical Advisory Committee will hold a partially open meeting on December 4, 2008 in Washington, DC. 11. Agriculture Secretary Makes Cattlemen's Beef Board Appointments

AMS has issued a press release stating that Agriculture Secretary Schafer announced 32 appointments (including six representing importers) to the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board. All appointees will serve 3-year terms beginning Jan. 31, 2009.
