1. USDA Suspends Effective Date for Proposed New NAIS Privacy Act System of Records

2. BIS Issues Temporary Denial Order for Export of U.S. Aircraft to Iran

The Bureau of Industry and Security has issued a Temporary Denial Order suspending the export privileges of Galaxy Aviation Trade Company, three of its shareholders, and Iran Air for 180 days. Evidence obtained by BIS shows that the respondent parties were planning to re-export a U.S.-origin Boeing 747 cargo aircraft to Iran from Turkey in violation of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). 3. USTDA Held its Global Customs and Supply Chain Initiative on June 11th

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency held its Global Customs Initiative Supply Chain Security and Customs Infrastructure Briefing on June 11, 2008 in Washington, DC. Senior customs officials from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam were to brief U.S. companies on their markets and upcoming procurement needs and goals. 5. 2007 EU Trade Surplus with U.S.

According to the European Commission, the European Union-27 had more than an 80 billion trade in surplus with the U.S. in 2007, and a surplus of 11 billion in trade in services. 6. G8 Countries, Others Establish Energy Efficiency Partnership
