4. Census Reminds Public to Enter Year 2008 for Current AES Shipments

The Census Bureau has issued an Automated Export System broadcast reminding the public to correctly report the year 2008 for current AES shipments to avoid the AES system's generation of the compliance alert - Shipment Reported Late. 5. ATF Publishes 2007 List of Explosive Materials

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has published its 2007 List of Explosive Materials (2007R-7T), effective December 7, 2007, of the explosives determined to be within the coverage of 18 USC 841 et. seq. ATF states that the list covers not only explosives, but also blasting agents and detonators, all of which are defined as explosive materials in 18 U.S.C. 841(c). 6. APHIS Corrects Error in Cold Treatment Regulations

TheAnimal and Plant Health Inspection Service has issued an interim rule, effective December 11, 2007, to correct an error in the cold treatment regulations in 7 CFR Part 305 relating to places for cold treatment and ports of entry. This correction amends the regulations by reinstating certain inadvertently removed provisions. 7. APHIS Proposes Amendment to Fruit and Vegetable Import Regulations

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has issued a proposed rule to amend the regulations in 7 CFR Part 319 that pertain to the importation of fruits and vegetables to eliminate a treatment requirement for Ya pears imported from Shandong Province, China; to clarify the conditions that apply to the importation of sand pears from the Republic of Korea and Japan; and to clarify the distinction between plant parts that would be considered plant litter or debris and those that would not. Comments are due no later than January 10, 2008. 8. State Dept Debars 12 Individuals and Two Entities Under ITAR

The Department of State has issued a notice announcing that it has imposed statutory debarment, pursuant to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Arms Export Control Act on 12 named individuals and two entities, convicted of violating or conspiring to violate Section 38 of AECA. The effective date will be based on the date of conviction as specified for each person/entity. The State Department adds that the period of debarment will generally be for three years from the date of conviction. 9. TWIC Enrollment for Los Angeles/Long Beach Began in December

The Transportation Security Administration has issued a notice announcing that enrollment for the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) for the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach, CA was scheduled to begin on December 12, 2007.
