4. CA Export Broker Sentenced for Illegal Export of Night Vision Technology to China

Trading Markets reports that California export broker Philip Cheng was recently sentenced to two years in prison and a $50,000 fine for his role in brokering the illegal export of a night vision camera and its accompanying technology to China in violation of federal laws and regulations. 5. Initial TWIC Enrollment in December for Ports of Tulsa and Albany

The Transportation Security Administration has issued a notice announcing that initial enrollment for the Transportation Worker Identification Credential will begin on December 12, 2007 for the Port of Tulsa, OK; and on December 13, 2007 for the Port of Albany, NY. 6. U.S.-Japan Telecom Mutual Agreement to Enter into Force Jan. 1, 2008

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has issued a press release announcing that the U.S. and Japan have completed the final steps for entry into force on January 1, 2008 of the U.S.-Japan Agreement on Mutual Recognition of the Results of the Conformity Assessment Procedures, under which each will be able to designate private-sector entities to test and certify telecommunications terminal and radio equipment as meeting the technical requirements of the other country.
