The Directorate of Defense Trade Controls has issued a statement announcing that all networks supporting DDTC will be off-line between the hours of 6 am and 12 noon on Sunday, September 23. 2. USDA Extends Registration for Oct. 1 Public Meeting on Import Safety

3. East African Countries Introduce System to Reduce Customs Bureaucracy
AllAfrica.com reports that East African countries have introduced a one-stop border post (OSBP) system in a bid to reduce bureaucracy in customs, as a component of the East African Trade and Transport Facilitation project funded by the World Bank. 4. CAFC to Change its Web Page Address, Domain Name
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has issued an announcement stating that it is relocating its Internet Web page address and domain to www.cafc.uscourts.gov on October 1, 2007. The former Web page address and domain name (www.fedcir.gov) will continue to be kept active through December 31, 2007. (Announcement available at http://www.fedcir.gov/)
5. FSIS Posts Updated Export Requirements Information for Cuba
The Food Safety and Inspection Service has posted updated export requirements for Cuba. According to FSIS, the export requirements have been updated to reflect the eligibility of poultry from Virginia to be exported if slaughtered on or after September 8, 2007. 6. CBP Extends Import Restrictions on Archaeological Material from Mali
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a final rule, effective September 19, 2007, to reflect both continuing and new import restrictions on certain archaeological material from Mali, including those of the Paleolithic Era (Stone Age), necessitating additional subcategories of stone objects in the Designated List. These import restrictions will remain in effect until September 19, 2012. 7. EPA Proposes Add'l Exemptions from Phaseout of Methyl Bromide in Protection of Ozone
The Environmental Protection Agency has issued a proposed rule to add uses (for agricultural and forestry products) to the exemption of the phaseout of methyl bromide in the protection of the stratospheric ozone. EPA is proposing uses that qualify for the 2008 critical use exemption and the amount of methyl bromide that may be produced, imported, or supplied from existing stocks for those uses in 2008.
