ITC to Hold Hearing on Possible GSP Additions and Removals Under the 2007 Annual Review
The International Trade Commission has issued a press release announcing that it is seeking input for the newly initiated investigation (332-493) concerning possible modifications to the Generalized System of Preferences as a result of the 2007 GSP Annual Review.

(The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) requested that the ITC provide advice on the likely impact on competing U.S. industries of the addition of nine HTS subheadings to the list of articles eligible for GSP and the removal of two HTS subheadings from duty-free status from certain beneficiary developing countries. The study will also provide advice on the effects on consumers.)
Products Subject to 2007 Annual Review and ITC's Investigation
The USTR has accepted nine petitions to make the following Harmonized Tariff Schedule numbers eligible for GSP:

ITC Hearing on 2007 GSP Annual Review on October 16, 2007
The ITC is seeking input for its new investigation from all interested parties and requests that the information focus on the articles for which the ITC is requested to provide information and advice. The ITC will be holding a public hearing on October 16, 2007 in Washington, DC.

- written submissions due no later than 5:15 p.m. on October 24, 2007
- ITC will submit confidential report to USTR on December 19, 2007, public version of report to be issued at later date.
