1. Various Postings to CBP's Web Site
Selected FTA/trade program comparison document. CBP has posted a document providing a side-by-side comparison of selected free trade agreements/trade programs (NAFTA, Singapore FTA, Chile FTA, Australia FTA, DR-CAFTA, and GSP). The document provides information on who is primarily responsible for compliance, preference criteria, general rules of origin, documentation required to be in the importer's possession at the time of claim, etc. See future issue of ITT for additional information. Various CSI documents. CBP has posted four documents regarding the Container Security Initiative, including an updated CSI fact sheet, a document providing a brief overview of CSI, a CSI PowerPoint presentation, and a list of ports that are currently CSI operational. Module 1 of DHS training support for APIS final rule, SF proposed rule. CBP has posted the documents that comprise Module 1 of the Department of Homeland Security training support for aircraft operators for the Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) Pre-Departure final rule and Secure Flight proposed rule. UN/EDIFACT implementation guide for transmission of APIS messages. CBP has posted its UN/EDIFACT Implementation Guide, which provides the latest information on the technical system set-up and formatting requirements for the transmission of UN/EDIFACT APIS messages to CBP. The guide includes the latest UN/EDIFACT guidelines that must be followed in order to comply with the recently published APIS Pre-Departure final rule, as well as a guide to the recently published Secure Flight proposed rule.
