ESAR A1 for ACE Accounts Now Expected to be Deployed in Mid-September 2007

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection sources, Entry Summary, Accounts, and Revenue (ESAR) A1 for Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) accounts is now expected to be deployed in mid-September 2007.

(On August 24, 2007, CBP delayed the August 25/26 deployment of ESAR A1 to September as testing revealed a flaw in the system changes. At that time, CBP stated that it would communicate the new implementation date as soon as it was determined; CBP sources indicate that it A1 is currently expected to be deployed in mid-September.)

ACE Account Fact Sheets Re-Posted, New Fact Sheets for FTZ and Surety Accounts

CBP has re-posted to its Web site fact sheets containing information regarding the new or enhanced ACE account types that were to be made available under ESAR A1. These account types include: importers, brokers, carriers, cartman and lighterman, facility operators, and service providers. CBP has also newly posted fact sheets for Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) and surety accounts.
