2. PHMSA Proposes to Amend Hazardous Materials Regulations

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has issued a proposed rule to amend the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR; 49 CFR Parts 171-180) to revise certain requirements applicable to the manufacture, maintenance, and use of DOT and MC specification cargo tank motor vehicles, DOT specification cylinders and UN pressure receptacles. 3. FDA Final Rule Corrects Typos, Etc. in Certain Medical Device Regulations

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a final rule, effective April 9, 2007, which amends the following medical device regulations to correct typographical errors, update addresses and telephone numbers, and correct wording to ensure accuracy and clarity: 21 CFR Parts 803, 814, 820, 821, 822, 874, 886, 1002, 1005, and 1020. 4. FMC Issues Corrections to Final Rule on Agency Reorganization

The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) has issued a notice which corrects the regulations in 46 CFR 501.27 which were inadvertently omitted from a February 15, 2005 final rule which delegated authority to certain FMC bureaus in order to improve the FMC's ability to carry out its statutory responsibilities over the ocean shipping industry in a more effective and efficient manner. 5. OFAC Final Rule Authorizes Certain Exports to Sudan and Iran Via Diplomatic Pouch

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued a final rule, effective April 3, 2007, which amends the Sudanese Sanctions Regulations at 31 CFR Part 538, and the Iranian Transactions Regulations at 31 CFR Part 560, to authorize the exportation or reexportation, directly or indirectly, from the U.S. or by a U.S. person, wherever located, of any goods or technology to a third-country government, or to its contractors or agents, for shipment to, respectively, Sudan or Iran via a diplomatic pouch. 6. FSIS Announces Meeting on Codex Committee on Food Labeling

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a notice announcing that the Office of the Under Secretary for Food Safety, U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services were to have sponsored a meeting on April 10, 2007, in order to provide information and receive public comments on agenda items and draft U.S. positions that will be discussed at the 35th Session of the Codex Committee on Food Labelling of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (Codex), which will be held in Ottawa, Canada, on April 30-May 4, 2007. 7. ITA Amends Eligibility Requirements for U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum

The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice which amends the eligibility requirements for applications for American representatives to join the U.S. section of the U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum.
