The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a notice in the Federal Register announcing the fees for Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) applicants as follows: a total standard fee of $137.25, and a reduced fee of $105.25 for applicants who have completed a prior comparable threat assessment, which TSA sources state will become effective on March 26, 2007. This notice finalizes the fees previously announced in a TSA press release. 2. State Dept to Hold Closed Meeting of International Security Advisory Board
The State Department has issued a notice announcing a closed meeting of the International Security Advisory Board (ISAB) to take place on April 25, 2007 in Washington, DC. The State Dept. states that the agenda for this meeting includes classified discussions related to the ISAB's ongoing studies on current U.S. policy and issues regarding nuclear proliferation, space policy, and related aspects of public diplomacy. 3. FSIS Establishes Uniform Compliance Dates for 2007/2008 Food Labeling
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a final rule, effective March 5, 2007, which amends 9 CFR Parts 317 and 381 to establish January 1, 2010 as the uniform compliance date for new food labeling regulations that are issued between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2008. FSIS states that it periodically announces uniform compliance dates for new meat and poultry food labeling requirements to minimize the economic impact of label changes. 4. FAS Requests Nominations for 7 Agricultural Trade Advisory Committees
The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) has issued a notice announcing that the Secretary of Agriculture, in coordination with the U.S. Trade Representative, intends to reestablish the Agricultural policy advisory Committee for Trade and the six existing Agricultural Technical Advisory Committees for Trade, and is requesting nominations for persons to serve on these seven committees for a term of four years. Written nominations must be received by FAS before the close of business on April 13, 2007. 5. BIS Issues 4 Orders Denying Certain Export Privileges for Activities Related to Export Without License
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has issued four orders denying certain export privileges for a period of ten years from the date of their conviction to Fiber Materials, Inc., Walter L. Lachman, Materials International, Inc., and Maurice Subilia, for activities related to the export from the U.S. to India of a controlled commodity, to wit, a component, accessory and controls for an isostatic press, without having first obtained the required export license from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
