The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a notice announcing the availability of proposed and final documents that have been prepared by certain Study Groups of the Global Harmonization Task Force (GHTF). These documents represent a harmonized proposal and recommendation from the GHTF Study Groups that may be used by governments developing and updating their regulatory requirements for medical devices. FDA states that it is requesting comments on these documents (comments on proposed documents are due by May 7, 2007). GHTF documents are available at http://www.ghtf.org/. 2. Coast Guard's National Maritime Security Advisory Committee to Meet

The Coast Guard has issued a notice announcing that its National Maritime Security Advisory Committee (NMSAC) will meet to discuss various issues relating to national maritime security. The meeting will be open to the public and will take place on February 28, 2007 in Arlington, VA. 3. BIS Issues Minor Amendments to EAR, Corrects Earlier DPAS Final Rule

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has issued a final rule, effective January 29, 2007, which removes two outdated references, corrects two references, and corrects certain contact information in the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The final rule also corrects a typographical error in its July 13, 2006 final rule that made administrative and technical corrections to the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) Regulation.
