1. Tax Relief and Health Care Act Extends GSP and ATPA Programs

This also message corrects an earlier ABI administrative message (Adm: 07-0026) which incorrectly indicated that the special rules for Haiti under HOPE, which amended the Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act (CBERA) were in effect. 2. Madagascar and Nigeria Have Met Requirements for Shrimp Importation
CBP has issued an ABI administrative message announcing that Madagascar and Nigeria have met their requirements for importation of shrimp into the U.S. that have not adversely affected sea turtles. 3. Weekly TRQ/TPL Commodity Report as of January 22, 2007
CBP has issued its weekly tariff rate quota (TRQ)/tariff preference level (TPL) commodity report as of January 22, 2007. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, tuna, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa powder, tobacco, certain BFTA, CAFTA-DR, JFTA, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, CAFTA-DR, CBTPA, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA (Chile FTA) TPLs and TRQs for qualifying apparel and/or other textile articles, the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc. (CBP's weekly TRQ/TPL commodity report, dated 01/22/07, available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/import/textiles_and_quotas/commodity/)
4. Various Postings to CBP Web Site
- Three NEXUS programs integrated into single program. CBP has issued a press release announcing that three NEXUS trusted traveler programs have been integrated into a single program. This means that there will be one application form and fee to participate in all modes of the NEXUS program - air, land, and marine. In addition, NEXUS will provide processing locations at additional airports in Canada throughout 2007.
