2. DR-CAFTA May be Implemented for Dominican Republic in 2006

The U.S. Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel (USA-ITA) has reported that the U.S.-Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement (DR-CAFTA) may be implemented for the Dominican Republic in 2006. 3. Coast Guard Policy Regarding the Term "Port or Place of Destination"

The Coast Guard has issued a notice announcing its policy regarding the term "port or place of destination" used in its notice of arrival regulations in 33 CFR Part 160, Subpart C. The Coast Guard states that it is issuing this notice to provide clarification as to how that term will be used by Coast Guard personnel enforcing its notice of arrival regulations. The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a notice announcing that it will hold a public meeting on November 14, 2006 in Washington, DC to discuss the agenda items coming before the Sixth Session of the Codex ad hoc Intergovernmental Task Force of Foods Derived from Biotechnology, which will be held in Chiba, Japan on November 27-December 1, 2006. 6. ITA Announces U.S.-Iraq Business Dialogue Membership Opportunities

The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice announcing the establishment of the U.S.-Iraq Business Dialogue, and membership opportunities for American representatives to join the U.S. section of the Dialogue. According to the ITA, the Department of Commerce and the Iraqi Ministry of Trade established the Dialogue as a bilateral forum to facilitate private sector business growth in Iraq and to strengthen trade and investment ties between the U.S. and Iraq.
