The Journal of Commerce reports that the Port of Charleston has announced that it will shut down operations on August 30, 2006 at noon, ahead of Tropical Storm Ernesto. The article states that vessel operations will stop by midnight, July 30, 2006, and that the port anticipates being closed all day July 31, 2006 and opening September 1, 2006, weather permitting. 2. NOAA Announces Continued Importation of Certain Tuna from El Salvador
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has renewed the affirmative finding for El Salvador under the Marine Mammal Protection Act. 3. FSIS Meeting for Upcoming Codex Session on Processed Fruits & Vegetables
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a notice announcing that it will hold a public meeting on September 7, 2006 in Washington, D.C. in order to provide draft U.S. positions and receive public comments on agenda items that will be discussed at the 23rd Session of the Codex Committee on Processed Fruits and Vegetables (CCPFV) of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (Codex), which will be held in Arlington, Virginia on October 16-21, 2006. 4. Technical Corrections to APHIS' Information on PPQ Export-Related Services and Procedures
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services (APHIS) has issued a notice correcting two technical errors in its notice providing information on APHIS' Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) export-related services and procedures. The technical corrections correct a Web site address in footnote 1 of the notice and the spelling of "Canada" in footnote 8 of the notice. The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has issued a correction to its May 23, 2006 notice announcing the temporary denial of certain export privileges for Data Physics Corporation, Data Physics China, Sri Welaratna, and Bill Chen.
