The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has issued a notice announcing that the Sensors and Instrumentation Technical Advisory Committee (SITAC) will meet on April 25, 2006 in Washington D.C. SITAC advises the Office of Assistant Secretary for Export Administration on technical questions that affect the level of export controls applicable to sensors and instrumentation equipment and technology. 3. FDA Announces Stakeholder Meeting on Possible Implementation of Medical Device Review Performance Goals

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a notice announcing that a stakeholder meeting will be held on May 22, 2006 in Rockville, MD in order to discuss the possible implementation of two review performance goals referenced in the Medical Device User Fee and Modernization Act of 2002. These goals include a commitment that 50% of the premarket approval applications received in fiscal year (FY) 2007 will have an FDA decision in 180 days and 80% of the premarket notifications will have an FDA decision in 90 days.
